Today our exclusive look at new product from the 2016 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida comes to a close. For those unfamiliar with the PGA Merchandise Show, it offers an opportunity for an up close and personal look at 2016 product before it is released later this Spring. Rounding out our coverage we turn out sights on Callaway. And as always, Callaway has an impressive line up ready to make a big splash this season!
XR 16 Driver
By now you’ve probably heard that Callaway actually partnered with experts at Boeing to perfect the technology behind the XR 16 driver’s club speed and aerodynamics. This technology has allowed Callaway to create their most forgiving and shape ever and Boeing made the XR 16 driver ultra fast with a re-engineered Speed Step.
Callaway promises that this long bomber is going to add some serious club speed. So if you’re looking for a big and fast driver with a high speed head and lower drain the crown, then look no further than Callaway’s new XR 16 driver.
XR 16 Fairways
To compliment and accompany the new XR 16 driver, Callaway is also introducing XR16 Fairway woods. If you compare the new XR 16 fairways woods to previous Callaway fairways models then you’ll notice that XR 16 fairways feature a larger head shape. They also pack a low CG and very high COR to combine for added forgiveness while also providing longer distance. Callaway also boasts that the new XR16 fairways will have even more ballspeed at impact than their predecessors.
XR OS Irons
Fast and forgiving are two words that are synonymous with Callaway’s new XR OS irons. Based on what we saw on the show room floor, Callaway’s XR OS irons are easier to hit, more forgiving, and easy to launch for a ball flight that leads to more distance.
As if there was any doubt, Callaway has come to play this season and it appears poised to take the golf world by storm in 2016. We’ll have a full review and breakdown of product testing results for Callaway’s 2016 line up available on the GX Report later this spring.
Callaway’s new 2016 line up will be available in all Golf Exchange locations this Spring.
