Cobra F-MAX Superlite Driver

Cobra has released an update to the 2017’s F-MAX family with the release of a Superlite men’s and women’s drivers, fairways, hybrids, and irons. The collection claims to be Cobras lightest ever and provides more club speed, distance, and launch. This particular line is aimed at players with moderate to low swing speeds. In this GX Report, we will focus on the Superlite Driver, which comes in both, men’s and women.

The F-MAX Superlite drivers contain a lighter profile to allow for faster swing speeds while promoting a smoother tempo to create a performance with great feel and strong forgiveness levels. The F-MAX Superlite is the perfect solution for players who need the added speed of light-weight design without sacrificing forgiveness. Those that will benefit from having that allows them to maximize their swing speed and launch angle.

The Drivers’ have a 6-gram lighter clubhead while maintaining an MOI of greater than 5000 grams, which is Cobra’s lightest driver head weight without sacrificing stability and forgiveness. In addition, a 5-gram lighter shaft and a 7-gram lighter grip combine to 18 grams in weight-savings.

The Superlite has an oversized club head that increases forgiveness by allowing more stability at the point of impact. This oversized clubhead increases the forgiveness by reducing twisting of the clubhead on miss-hits for more consistent, accurate drives. The Forged 6-4 titanium face insert with Cobra E9 variable face thickness maintains ball speed across the face to help with poor strikes.

A cool feature is the crown alignment feature. This crown alignment design assist players to have a square set up at address without being a visual distraction. Another feature is that the Superlite driver has an internal weight pad that statically positions weight low, back and towards the heel to deliver higher launching and straighter ball flights.

Men’s driver comes in a 45 g Superlite shaft in stiff, regular and lite flex. Lofts range from 9.5 degrees to 11.5 degrees in right-hand and 10.5 degrees in left-handed. The Women’s Driver comes in left and right-handed. The lofts that come right-handed are 15 degrees and 11.5-degrees, the left-handed loft is 15 degrees. The driver comes in two options: a traditional looking straight -neck design or an offset hosel design to help golfers who fade the ball.
