The Buzz

You gotta hand it to the folks at Wilson Golf. They’ve done something that hasn’t yet been done in our industry. They found a way to bring the growing trend of crowd sourcing to the golf equipment industry, more specifically to golf club design. In an effort to generate some excitement around their brand and push the envelope of club design they put out an open call to anyone that had an idea for the game’s next great driver. Thousands of ideas were submitted, narrowed to 6 and those designers were invited to work with Wilson engineers to further develop their varying concepts. Over the several months Wilson’s panel of judges put the concepts through the ringer and eventually selected the winner, the Wilson Staff Triton designed by Cincinnati’s very own Eric Sillies. The entire process was televised on the Golf Channel over the course of seven episodes called Driver vs. Driver. If you didn’t catch them live you can view them here
